Either you'll need to modify the poll plugin's PHP, or you'll have to install another poll and use the PHP wrapper nugget to display it.

If you choose to use another poll, make sure you install it in a different directory than the main Serendipity directory. If you choose to install in a new subdirectory under the Serendipity directory, you'll want an .htaccess with "RewriteEngine Off" in that directory. Then go search spartacus.s9y.org for the PHP wrapper, and in its configuration screen you can call the new poll.

Just install the "External PHP Application" plugin, serendipity_plugin_externalphp, from the spartacus.s9y.org site, or through your SPARTACUS plugin (easier, but not supported by all hosts). In its configuration, call the poll. Voila! Poll in the sidebar.
