Problem with "Adaptation"

I was curious about the new adaptation theme, but after installing it (you can reproduce the error by using the template switcher in my blog) I can only see this:

That looks about right to me? The template is all about using your browser preferences.

However the top image should be displayed, I think.

Maybe you should better ask the author of the theme on his own page, I doubt he's reading these forums here.
