Maybe I just type too slow. I can't seem to make a response to a post; I keep getting "Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form."

I log out and log in, but it's no help.

I waited a few hours, came back, logged in, and used copy-and-paste to reply to everybody. As long as I'm quick on the trigger and don't write any essays, it works. Sorry to everyone who had to wait so long for a reply.

Unfortunately, I like writing essays. And finding all the posts was a bit annoying. Is there any way I can manually reset my session key when I take too long to do a writeup?

Hm, that's pretty strange. Maybe Jannis changed something on the server. Can you debug the HTTP Cookie headers? What are the cookie's expiry dates set to?

This forum has a configuration of a timeout of 60 minutes or so, I belief...

I know I act like a bigshot programmer, and when it comes to the compiled and interpreted programming languages, I might just be.

But I'm STILL new to HTTP. I know what a cookie is, and a little bit about how they're set, but I've got no idea how to debug them.

Examining my cookies directly, I see that most of board.s9y.org tend to expire at "End of Session", with a few months or years from now. But I've got two interesting ones: one that expires in about 30 minutes, and one that expires 3 minutes ago. We'll see if this post goes through.

UPDATE: The "old" cookie updated to the current time. Maybe it's the 'last visit' cookie or something. The other cookie updated to 30 minutes from then. Maybe that's the 'end session' cookie. Too bad I can't edit them...

I believe there are Firefox extensions that allow you to edit Cookies internally. In the end, cookies are just plaintext files stored in the browser profile directory where you can edit them with a text editor (including their timeout setting), if you want to play with that?

For now, I'm just making sure I refresh the list of "posts since last visit" every 30 minutes. It's working so far. No more essays for me.
