Hi I'm trying to install to my site

with 0.7.1 I go to the directory and click the 'Install' link and get:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $, in /home/shm/www/serendipity/serendipity_functions_config.inc.php on line 70

so I try 0.7 and get:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $, expecting ')' in /home/shm/www/serendipity/serendipity_functions_installer.inc.php on line 709

presently can be viewed here

What is going wrong? Thanks

It looks like you've got a garbaged installation with corrupt files. What do the files look like in the mentioned line (+/- 2 lines)? I suppose the files just end there?

Please try to download the files from a different mirror?

Garvin

I wish it was that straight forward :)

I checked the files and they look as I think they should at those lines.

Note that I tried 2x with 2 diff downloads of diff releases.

I'll try again shortly. Thanks

So how do your files look like +/- 2 lines where the error is found? Does the file end there, ... ?
