Hi

do you mean you've uploaded theme to the templates folder and then you can't see the theme you've uploaded in admin/magage styles?

Hi!

Which theme did you download/install? And in which directory did you put it exactly?

when you uploaded it, did you use FTP privileges that allow PHP to read the files (766?)

Regards,
Garvin

This theme/style has no specific options. To see how your template can specify options, read the Technical Documentation on www.s9y.org about "Configuration of Theme options".

This is the phrase I get after selecting any/every theme - and still the site remains completely unchanged. AND I cannot find this phrase on the documentation!

themes are there, files intact - this is from startup - help!

The link you're looking for is http://s9y.org/137.html. Unfortunately, it doesn't help you change the appearance of your site; it's for theme designers who want to give you options for modifying the theme.

So, you click on the "Manage Styles" link from the admin page, then you choose a theme from those selected. (I tried One True Layout.) It shows you a bunch of "Trying to open" and "Fetched" lines, and finally, below all that stuff, it shows you some theme options, or the informational message you've already seen. (For One True Layout, it's a color scheme and menu links. I just may have to use this for my blog...) You make any modifications you like and click "Save".

After installation, if you go back to your admin screen and click the "Manage Styles" link, it should show you the same option screen/message you had before.

Which part of this isn't working properly? Which version of Serendipity are you using?

Partial changes -

Thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated

I loaded serendipity (could it be v1.1.2?) directly from a function I found on Godaddy - The instructions upon loading it were.. Click Here. Nice and simple I thought - but it brought me to the main page and it was just words - like the css didn't attach, you know? OK go to the admin pages and begin selecting the templates - but when I click on the choices - I get a very slight change of positioning of the text on the main page - but still no colors, images... just the layout.

So I find a new layout on the site s9y add it in, set the permissions - and still just partial changes show - so strange . ..

any ideas?

Tesha - it is always a huge help if you post a link to your site.... the potential for assistance is greatly increased when we can see it "live".

Good point

BUT -

this is opened through a pointer domain name because we're waiting for the real name to propagate

http://louislongo.com/serendipity/

thanks so much folks...

It's not loading your CSS at all. It gets a parking page; you can check it at http://enlivenfirst.com/serendipity/ind ... dipity.css.

The pointer domain is the big problem, I believe. Your Serendipity is probably configured to run on http://enlivenfirst.com/serendipity/, and that's not loading.

In your admin screen, go to Configuration, then Paths. Either modify the URL to blog to point at http://louislongo.com/serendipity/ (which will almost certainly fix the problem) or set "Autodetect used HTTP-Host" to "true", which might do the job.

duh....

I assumed it would always remain within the folders and never point to the "real name"

...red faced and totally embarrassed, tesha walks quietly away...

thank you - you know it's always the little things that get me, always. I do thank you... you were very gentle, when I deserved a kick

Nobody deserves a kick for that little bit. Heck, I wouldn't be able to sit down if that's all that you needed to merit a kick.

Glad it's working for you! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
