3rd Party Editors not there

Post by rj »

I have both TINYMCE and FCKer intalled, and no matter what I seem to put in the path line, neither will take and both override the default editor into nothing.
I think it is something other than the path.

RJ

I had FCKer working until just a week ago.

Hi!

You can only install ONE of the WYSIWYG components. Uninstall the other one. They will interfer with each other.

Best regards,

I do that, but perhaps the uninstall thing is not working well.

Is their any process to uninstall the default editor before you add FCKer or TINYmce? When I had FCKer working, I swear it just automatically over rode the default editor and came up.

I dont think my problem is PATH. I think it may be related to this, it is either seeing the default editor and refusing to load, or the remove plugin thing is not working right.

Hi!

You cannot/mustnot/need not remove the default editor. As soon as any WYSIWYG component is installed, the default editor is disabled by default.

But you can NOT install TinyMCE, Xinha, FCKEditor together. Only one of them can be used.

Check your personal preferences in the s9y panel, you must have the option "WYSIWYG editor" set to "yes" to use any WYIWYG editor.

You did not use FTP to delete any files in /htmlarea, right?

Regards,
Garvin

I did not do anything to the default editor files.
I am aware that you cannot have two editors installed, they are not.
I had TINYmce installed and not working but it leaves no editor and I had to remove it so I could post articles. I have re installed it.
