Trouble installing plug-ins when using Spartacus

I am a novice at this. I installed serendipity through my host provider, GoDaddy. I'm having great fun playing with this while I figure out exactly how I want this to look.

I installed the Spartacus Plug-in and am using it to try to install other plug ins. An example is HTML Nugget on Page from the side-bar plug-ins. This is the message I receive when I click to install the HTML Nugget on Page plug-in:
Error: serendipity_event_page_nugget:0e46ec2358b744f437a8c86b42e7ec53 (online_repository)
DEBUG: Plugin serendipity_event_page_nugget:0e46ec2358b744f437a8c86b42e7ec53 not an object: .
Input: Array ( [adminModule] => plugins [pluginPath] => online_repository [install_plugin] => serendipity_event_page_nugget [spartacus_fetch] => [action] => [adminAction] => ) .

This error can happen if a plugin was not properly downloaded (check your plugins directory if the requested plugin was downloaded) or the inclusion of a file failed (permissions?)
Backtrace:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/content/s/j/b/sjbennett/html/serendipity/include/admin/plugins.inc.php on line 441
I admit that I am clueless about what this all means. I have attempted this a couple of different times with the same results. Is there something else I need to do? Is there another way I am can install these plug-ins?

I did read the documentation with Serendipity and tried to download manually plug-ins from http://spartacus.s9y.org and then attempted to FTP them into the plug-in folder. I had a different set of error messages with this task.

I could use a little guidance if you'd be so kind. Thank you.

Hi!

Did you check via FTP if the "plugins" directory is writable? And did you check if a serendipity_event_page_nugget directory exists there?

Manually uploading a plugin should alwwasys work, how did you proceed?

Best regards,
Garvin

Garvin,

Thank you very much for your reply. Today I successfully manually uploaded plug-ins from the serendipity site. I do no know what I was doing wrong last night. Is there a way that I can manually upload the page nugget plug-in that is available through Spartacus? I do not see it listed in the serendipity plug ins at s9y.org.

One more question. I installed the static page event. In the configuration for the page it give you the option to Show this page on sidebar-navigation. I have that selected, but I do not see any sidebar navigation when I visit the front-end. Is there something else I need to install to have this navigation bar?

Thanks for your help!

Regards!

That plugin is on spartacus.s9y.org - see this page:

http://spartacus.s9y.org/index.php?mode ... s_event_en

and search for "HTML Nugget on Page".

There's a seperate sidebar plugin that comes with the staticpage plugin. Once you have installed the event plugin, you can also install its sidebar equivalent, it comes with the same plugin.

Best regards,
Garvin
