Ugh! Need help with customizing template

Hello (again) folks ~ I need some assistance with customizing my template. I just can't seem to find the coding for the things I want to change! This is my 2nd post and as I said before, I am a beginner with PHP and this is my first site with s9y. If anyone can please lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I've searched previous posts and viewed the documentation, but haven't found any answers. Thank you for your patience! :)

Here are the things I am having problems customizing. I am using the Andreas00 template.

http://www.homemakerinprogress.com/blog

- I've added a couple of static pages (under "Main Menu" in the sidebar). When I click any of the static page links, there is a grey bar that is showing up on my pages, right below the bread crumb header. (I guess this shows the previous/next static pages) I don't want this grey bar showing up. Where is the coding for me to delete this bar?

- In addition to the above issue, there is also a title text showing up in the main picture header that I don't want to show up either. For example, if you are at my 'About Me' page, you'll see an About Me text at the top left corner on the picture header. How do I remove that? I don't want any text showing in the picture header.

- Lastly, when I create a static page, there is an option for me to make that page the frontpage. I tried to create a 'welcome' static page that I want to use as my frontpage. When I click "yes" to have it be my frontpage and reload my site to view it, that page doesn't show up. The main page that shows is the page with my current post. There is no other permalink plugin that I am using that would affect this. Maybe I am misunderstanding how this option works. If so, please clarify. My understanding is that the frontpage is your main page. With what I want to do, would a "sticky post" work better? If so, how do I create a sticky post? I couldn't find information on this anywhere in the documentation or archive posts on this forum.

Thank you for any feedback and assistance any of you can provide! :D

Warmly,
Jocelyn

No coding needed, this can be done using the plugin config for Static Pages (event plugin, not sidebar) - simply set "Show Navigation" to "no".

You'll probably not want to remove that but rather hide it for SEO reasons.

Hello YL -- thanks for your fast response! I did what you suggested, but I don't think Serendipity likes me very much because I just went to the config plugin for Static Pages (event plugin) and set "no" under "show navigation", and when I refreshed my browser to view the change on my site, the grey bar is still showing.

What's weird is that I even clicked "no" on the "show page on sidebar-navigation" (just to see if anything would change) and the static pages were still showing on the sidebar. I even closed my browser and reopen it but there were still no changes. Any thoughts on why this maybe happening?

And also...the link you gave is in German. Is there another link you can give me so I can read it in English? :D

THANK YOU!!!
