Unable to post comments

Hi Guys,

Dunno if this is a bug or my shortcoming, but i'm unable to activate the posting of usercomments on my blog.

I think i configured my blog correctly, but no matter what i try i keep getting the following message when trying to post a comment:
Your comment could not be added because comments for this entry have either been disabled, you entered invalid data, or your comment was caught by anti-spam measurements.
I tried disabling spam protection but that didn't help. Comments are allowed for this entry. I tried disabling comments which made the comment link disappear. I put it back on again but the problem persisted.

Anyone got a clue? I can post the link of my blog if that would be helpful.

I'm using Serendipity 1.1.2 and PHP 5.2.1

Hi!

So you are sure you completely removed the spamblock plugin? Usually the message can really only be caused by it. Maybe you have other spamblock-plugins still installed?

Garvin

Hi!

Thanx for the quick reply.

I went to configure plugins->event plugins and removed the spam protector from there.

Are there more spam blocking thingies? :)

Hi!

Yes, there are SURBL and DNSBL plugins. Best would be for you to tell us which event plugins you have installed?

And make sure that you try to edit an entry and see if the checkbox "Allow comments to this entry" is really enabled for that entry?

Garvin

My active event plugins are:
Markup: Serendipity
Markup: Emoticate
Markup: NL2BR
Browser Compatibility

In the edit entry screen:
Allow comments to this entry = on
Comments & trackbacks to this entry requires moderation = off

Hi!

That looks right then. What's your URL, so I can try to leave a comment?

http://www.stack.nl/~pray/serendipity

I just removed the whole thing and reinstalled to see if I might did something wrong with installing but it didn't matter.

I did make a grand discovery though, when i'm logged in as administrator i can post comments! If i log out i can't post comments :)
