Private Categories possible?

Here is what I tried to do:
I want a categorie that is visible only to me, the admin.
Nobody else should see this entry and all what I am publish in this categorie is visible only for me.
The idea behind this was a few article with support text to use for cut&paste in new articles.
I've tried it because the docu says I can make Categorie visible only to the one and only author just only by unchecking the "all authors" checkbox.
But it doesn't work.
Am I too dumb, or is it really not possible what I want to do?

That 'checkbox' stuff is only there to restrict posting by other users.

Entries are always viewable on the frontend, no matter what their read status is. Serendipity is a weblog and not a CMS. :-)

Nevertheless, in Serendipity 0.8 we have a plugin 'entryproperties' which allows to set single entries to be read by "only me", "all co-authors" or "everybody". You could use that, even though you'd have to apply the checkbox every time when posting an article.

The plugin however could be changed so that what you want could be done on a category-level...

Full ack. So I missunderstood the manual.
Btw. is 0.8x already useble for normal users?
Maybe I should try it with caution for myself...

Personally I'm using 0.8 on my "production" site already and fell it's quite stable. The installer/upgrader and the admin suite are still a bit tweaked here and there, but should work properly.
