how to enable left sidebar?

Hi all!
I am very new to Serendipity. Love it. I am having a brain "fart" and can't figure out how to enable the left sidebar. Can someone help me?

Hi

quite a number of themes, particularly the fixed width themes (including the one you're using) don't have a left sidebar. You could try one of the other temlplates and adjust the css to suit yourself.
