Hello there,
I hope you guys have the solution I'm looking for. I want to start the installation of Serendipity but It won't start. If I'm opening the page it says this:
HTMLArea: auto-generated examples index
I don't see any installation starting or something. Can you tell me what I do wrong?
Thnx

What is the URL you're using to access your blog? It seems you want to call the htmlarea/ directory instead of Serendipity root.
Or you've extracted the Serendipity zip file without the full paths? Which version are you using, BTW?

First I want to test it in the intern network before I go public.
I've downloaded the first Serendipity download:
Serendipity 0.7.1 - December 2nd, 2004
I've extracted the zip file and put the files in a map called serendipity in the htmlarea from the Apache Webserver. Then I've opened my webbrowser and typed: //(namecomputer)/serendipity and then i got this:
HTMLArea: auto-generated examples index
Do you know what I can do about it?

Don't know what you're doing exactly, but you're extracing the files wrong.
What you see is the files which should be in htmlarea/examples/index.html - that should NOT be in the root directory of Serendipity. Don't copy any other htmlarea files around, nor drop the Serendipity extracted files in the htmlarea folder....
Just extract the full contents including all paths of Serendipity Download file to a fresh and shiny brand new folder, and then point your browser there...
