The Great Disappearing Side Bar Plug-Ins

Suddenly, my blog can no longer Fetch a list of available sidebar plugins nor does clicking for installed sidebar programs receive a response.

This occurred after I installed sidebar: serendipity_event_guestbook

However, each time I install a plug-in, it installs it as 755 with 644 nested beneath. I cannot change it to 777 from CHMOD. This was not, for me, a problem in versions prior to 1.1, but I do not know if that is relevant.

Garvin (or anyone): is this a familiar problem for which there is a viable fix?

Assitance appreciated.

Do you get no result at all, or a blank page? Can you make a screenshot?

To me this sounds as if you are using the SPARTACUS plugin. You must configure the proper permissions inside that plugin if your permissions are mismatching.

It might be that you have too many plugins installed and you are running out of RAM on your server. The server/php errorlog would give a clue to this?

Disabling the spartacus plugin might also help, then you can fetch plugins manually from http://spartacus.s9y.org/.
