Can't see comments

I have two problems here. The first one is, I have elected to approve comments posted to my blog, but when I go to view these comments I can't see them. I have no idea where the comments are????

The other problem is I am starting to get a lot of spam comments posted to my blog. I'm wondering if there is a way I can make the person posting the comment have to answer a confirmation email before their comment is even brought to my attention?

You must go to the admin section, there check the "Comments" menu option.

There's no such plugin that requires confirmation of a comment. But you can use the spamblock plugin to enforce captchas, for example.
