I use s9y for a once annual boating event - hardly in the same league with some of you guys. The event itself gets announced in a few days, and many of my pages are deliberately "unavailable" as they contain info I do not want known in advance.

Anyway, I had too much time on my hands (yeah - right!) and decided to re-work my graphics. I wanted to call as much attention to elements with color as possible, so I deliberately used neutral greys everywhere else. Now I am concerned that it is potentially too dull or boring. Opinions welcomed.

The reason I even mention this is that I know many of you are discussing "must haves" for your templates, and I was considering commenting on that thread from a "graphic focussed" perspective.

I kinda like the greys. You could try sampling some of the grey colours from the menus and header and make them match. It might look OK

I like it, I don't have an issue with any of the graphic elements, my only critique would be that I find the entry footer and page footer text a little difficult to read, I would probably make the text a little darker, but on the other hand it isn't all that useful to most people anyway and is less distracting in this color.

As for not commenting in the other thread, Shame!

We really do need the input of other Serendipity users, and your experiences/needs with s9y are no less important than ours. Please do add your 10cents, we can't improve the stuff we're doing if we don't know how users like yourself would adapt the code being discussed.

Yes - the entry footer and page footer can be difficult to read... I am still struggling with the right colors for those. Unfortunately, my monitor is calibrated for photo editing, so it tends to be on the bright side, so I can easily see the contrast whereas the average monitor might show that a bit darker.

Anyway, keep the input coming. I introduced a few other new ideas like the rollover buttons. Those are not quite functioning the way I want, but I am still working on that.

Works great in IE7 (XP and Vista). I like it technically, tatse-wise it's bit over the top for me.
