Hello,

Seems like I cannot install Serendipity on my web server.

My free hosting service is :
http://www.frihost.com/

I put all the 737 Serendipity files to a specific folder called "mon blog" and chmoded it to 777 on the server.

When i run the page:
http://www.litterature.frih.net/monblog/install.php

I get all the errors listed there.

Im pretty much sure Serendipity should work on Frihost since we run PHP/MySQL/Perl on Apache.

Thanks for your help, cant wait to make Serendipity work :)

I'm getting a 404. Did you uninstall for debugging? Or could we be having a language problem (mon blog has non-ASCII characters, for instance)?

No but I'm planning to uninstall and start again from scratch.

monblog has no particular language failure so far...

Thanks for advice judebert :)

I'm still getting a 404 when I try to access the URL you supplied or the index.php at the same location. Is there actually anything in the monblog/ directory?

I have deleted all content in the monblog folder and have uploaded all the files in the default folder : Serendipity.

I will chmod the permissions and give it a try later on.

I would like to mention that the ZIP installation files dont have the same structure as the TAR version (which I downloaded and uploaded) meaning that there are not any subfolders in the ZIP version, I think that's why i had problems during the installation.

Thanks.

Ok, installation is ok but on this page :
http://www.litterature.frih.net/monblog ... _admin.php

I am unable to enter the admin. page with the username and password I provided during the installation process.

By the way, I reinstalled Serendipity two times with no result :(

What can I do?

By the way, is there a way I could retrieve my credentials by email if I lose them?
