Security violation when using Gallery-related plugins

Greetings.

I'm trying out the Gallery Random Block and Unified Sidebar Image Display plugins to display albums from my Gallery installation but my blog only displays "Security Violation - The action you attempted is not permitted - Back to Gallery." Has anyone else ever experienced this? What did you do to correct this?

Your help is greatly appreciated. :)

Hi!

Is maybe your gallery setup to not allow inclusion via the API?

Another thing might be that G2 changed their API versions somewhen and our plugin does not support their latest API. I know there was a thread in our forums about the specific version numbers, so maybe you can try to search the forum for "gallery" and "API" or something like that?

HTH,
Garvin

Hi,

I forgot to mention my version of Gallery, it's 2.1.2. Anyway I will go and search for those that you recommended.

Thank you. :-)

I have a Gallery2 related question also:

I wanted to be able to use the embed plug-in, so I installed the version of Gallery that everyone on the forums here seems to agree was the last version (2.1rc2a) that worked with the plugin.

I have my Gallery installation done, the plugin installed, and this is the embed page:

http://www.dujane.com/index.php?/gallery.html

I realize that I need to format everything through CSS to make it look pretty, but I thought the photos should at least show at this point? I don't want to bother with fixing the style sheet if there's still something wrong with my installation.[/url]

Hi Duchess!

Your image links look like this:

Code: Select all

http://www.dujane.com/home/content/D/u/J/DuJane/html/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=26&g2_serialNumber=2
which looks like a wrong URL because of a full path configured in the plugin instead of a HTTP path! Can that be? (sorry, not a gallery-plugin user myself)

Best regards,
Garvin

Thank you! I can't believe I didn't see that. Works great now.

I had the same problem as you! I found out that you have to install the image-block plugin in your gallery for the s9y-Plugin to work!

Good luck,

Michael

faldo29,

I am getting the same sort of thing using Gallery 2.1.2 and Serendipity 1.1.2. The URL's to my site are the following:

blog: http://sliemascouts.org/content
gallery: http://sliemascouts.org/gallery

Can you advise exactly how you got round this problem?

Thanks!
