Installation Error, 2nd Page: Firefox: Bad Request (IE too)

Post by ckeck »

I used Serendipity in the past, but have not installed since v1.0. Anyhow, I set up my DB and uploaded all the files.

When I get to the first installation screen (looks like broken HTML, but still working), all my configurations and recommendations check out, but then I click on "Simple Install", then I get a BAD PAGE error from Firefox.

Here is the link its taking me to:

http://mysite.com/s9y/serendipity_admin ... y[step]=2a

What could be the problem? All the installation checks were ok...I tried this with PHP 4 and with PHP 5...same issue.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi!

Hm, your link does not point to a valid page. Could you show us the real page and/or a screenshot of it?

To me this sounds as if you didn't upload all files...?

Hi!

Your server seems to deny requests to the 'serendipity.css.php' file:

See:

http://yourserver/s9y/serendipity.css.p ... _admin.css

returns a "bad request". Please talk to your provider why this happens; it's not s9y's fault, something else seems to be going on.

Best regards,
Garvin
