Hi folks,
i have a problem in the config plugin screen i get the following error:

Because it starts with vti_ i gues it is related to frontpage because i use frontpage and frontpage modify's the directory structure and puts in dir's like vti_pvt en vti_cnf.

em i right or is it an other bug and how can i fikse it?

Hi!

You muste delete your "_vti*" directories. Serendipity does not tolerate those in its directory structure.

Thanks garvin for the quick response...Again!

i've deleted all te _vti and _cnf and _private folders (all created bij FP) and yes s9y works great!!

next prob. i can't acces my website anymore FP doesn't recognise it. and if i want it to recognise it it puts all those folders back were i don't want them.

do jou know how to turn that off?

s9y can exist in a MS FrontPage environment - it is not ideal, and I am slowly weeding FrontPage out of my own s9y site due to the limitations it imposes on my management of my site as well as the awful overhead it's code generates.

There is little reason to use FrontPage unless you need some of the FrontPage extension features. Forms comes to mind, but there are others.

If you do use FrontPage, you CANNOT use an FTP client to transfer anything to your server. Everything must move to the server via FrontPage publishing. The biggest implication here is that you cannot install plugins via spartacus. Instead - download the desired plugin, unzip it into your FrontPage directory structure, and publish the newly added folders and files.

The s9y entries do not interfere with FrontPage as those are simply additions to the sql database, which has nothing to do with FrontPage.

Finally - Garvin's statemen that s9y will not tolerate the _vti folders is not entirely accurate - my site has them (until I completely remove all FP elements) and the site works just fine as long as files are uploaded to the server via FP publishing. Getting files off the server is a different story and considerably more challenging - to the point that I have really screwed things up when I have tried in the past.
