embedding just a plugin

i want to embed just a plugin on my homepage - no blog...

for example, i have a quasi-splash page with a side bar. i want to place the statistics plugin and the recent entries plugin on the side bar, without actually displaying the full blog on the homepage

i can embed the whole blog, but i'm not sure how to pick a plugin out individually and print it

It can be done, however it involves effort on your part. Garvin has posted instructions in this thread, and you can read another users experiences and queries in this thread
