Question about Akismet Plugin

Hello,

I use latest Spamblock Plugin (v 1.53) and Akismet. I´ve chosen to log rejected comments in database. What does an entry in "serendipity_spamblocklog" table like "Akismet API verification failed: false" mean? These comments are no spam and they are shown in my blog (I just deleted the entries on that screenshot). Why were they logged in database?

I believe it means that for some reason your Serendipity install wasn't actually able to connect to the akismet service, unfortunately, whilst akismet is good, it is also a heavily utilised service and their servers sometimes appear to be struggle with the volume of enquiries.

ok, thank you. So that´s nothing to worry about. I thought it doesn´t work correctly and will filter too many good comments.

Isn´t there a way to reactivate incorrectly as spam identified comments stored in database?

Hi!

Actually if you get this entry, then your API key could not be verified from Akismet because of some error. In that case, s9y does NOT mark the comment as spam! If it is marked by spam, it is because of some other anti-spam measurement.

Akismet-Spam is only marked by the Plugin when Akismet was definitely getting connected and reported that your comment is spam

Best regards,
Garvin
