I thought I knew this but...

I set up a new database and called it serendipity, gave it all permissions and then unzipped the files, all installed without issue. When I use browser to open www.etov.com/serendipity/index.php I get a page showing my files. (you can go there as well.)
Don't I have to enter the password and database name somewhere in a file? I also do not see the htaccess file that I thought would have been auto installed.
If you can help me, I do enjoy the script.
Thanks
frank

Hi!

When I go to that URL I see a page where at the bottom I can click on "Simple Installation" and enter the db credentials there... :)

The s9y setup is completely menu-based, you don't need to edit any files. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

You have to be kidding me

I appreciate your help, but you must have done something. Each time when I opened that page, I got a bunch of block letters telling me I had an error.
I am thrilled it worked. I used S9Y for years in an old blog and lost it all to a server owner who screwed me, so we will soon be back in business.
thanks

Hi!

I didn't do anything! I have no FTP privileges, so there was nothing I did apart from clicking on your link :)

Maybe your provider had some temporary problems?

Best regards and have fun,
Garvin

I should have pinged my browser. It was probably showing the same error page that was created during my first attempt.
Whatever, it worked great, and I am now experimenting with the look of etov.com, so lookforward to us soon.
Thanks,
Frank
