Or I should say too well?
When someone wants to post a comment, you have to input a code, which helps prevent spam.

Well, now everyone who tries to post a comment gets the following message (including me):

"You did not enter the correct string displayed in the spam-prevention image box. Please look at the image and enter the values displayed there.
Your comment could not be added, because comments for this entry have been disabled."

Comments have not been disabled, and the correct string is entered (unless I suddenly don't know my letters).

Why would this be happening?
It used to work some of the time, and part of the time it would have a hissycow, but now it doesn't work at all.

I have tried to install a bunch of plugins (many of which don't work) and I was wondering if something fracked it up?

Would upgrading fix this problem? I'm using version 0.8.2. and Carl Galloways green template (modified by me).

If anyone has any clue on this, I'd be grateful. It's kind of pointless to have a blog site if no one can reply!

We've seen this problem in the past when sessions, cookies, or URLs aren't working properly (for instance, http://www.s9y.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5757 and http://www.s9y.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5682) . The string of letters is called a CAPTCHA, which is what I used for the forum search.

In at least one case, the problem was that the blog was set to a different domain than the user was accessing (could have been mydomain.com as opposed to www.mydomain.com). In that case, configuring "Auto-detect HTTP Domain" to "true" could solve the problem.
