Problem with Shoutcast Plugin

Post by Radio Gotsoul »

Hi Everyone,

I wondered if somebody could help me on this. I've recently just moved hosting providers, 1&1 to GoDaddy.

I made a fresh installation of Serendipity and copied across my template. I then installed my usual set of plugins, including the Shoutcast one.

It doesn't seem like the plugin can contact the shoutcast server, although it works perfectly well on my existing site, which is still up and running though this transition.

I get the error 'Unable to connect to server'.

Does anybody know why this works on my old host and not the new one.

The site is pratically a mirror image of the old one.

http://www.gotsoul.co.uk old site hosted with 1&1, works fine
http://www.radiogotsoul.com new site hosted with GoDaddy, doesn't work

The shoutcast server I'm trying to contact is...

http://stream.radiogotsoul.com:8410

I've tried just using the server IP address also. Works on the old but not the new.

I'd appreciate some ideas on how to fix this.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew.

Hi!

I believe Godaddy is firewalled, thus you cannot make your webserver connect to foreign pages, because the port is blocked. You can only ask godaddy to please un-firewall the outgoing port connection on your server.

Best regards,
Garvin
