I chose to log all the spamblock events into a text file, which makes it easy to check the events without logging into the database. This worked fine up to now but since yesterday there hasn't been any new entry. I really can't imagine all the spammers stopping to spam me from one day to another - even though I wouldn't be unhappy about
Before I start digging in the apache logs just one question: I there a maximum size for that logfile?
There shouldn't be any maximum size limit, no. It might be that your diskspace is low, or the file permissions have changed?

I believe I solved the mystery. Our unerversites' network department has updated their firewall and seem to have configured it improperly. They fixed it in the meantime.
