I just upgraded to the latest version (1.0 beta 2) and was reading through the docs about new anti-spam measures. I went to WordPress and obtained an API key for Akismet, but the Spam-Protector plugin (ver 1.33) does not mention Akismet at all.

I checked the plugin directory and it seems the newest plug in is present:

serendipity_event_spamblock.php (2006-06-09)

What am I missing?

1.0 beta2 is not the latest version! 1.0.1 and 1.1-beta4 are.

The latest version of the spamblock plugin is 1.53 - so you are using an old version!
