Comments not working (v0.8-alpha4)

Hello,

maybe it’s me, my server, my karma, but in the latest snapshot the comment function doesn’t work. No matter posting as registered user or guest, after saving a comment, a blank page is shown.

The server isn’t reporting an error so I have no clue were to search for a solution.

Update: After disabling the SPAM-Protection event-plugin, everything works fine. Maybe it’s because im running the server in an intranet?!

I will try to run more tests :-)

Any suggestion would be very nice!

Hm, that is really strange. Maybe you accidentally activated some Anti-Spam feature which didn't happen when you reinstalled it?

If that happens again, the anti-spam plugin offers logging of its measurements, and then you can check why a comment was rejected. But it should also tell you rejection reasons on the commentform when you submit a comment...didn't it output some red lines? :)

Hm, I have the same problem. But disabling und re-enabling solves not my problem. You can try it: www.huhny.de

When I disable only the captchas it worked fine! The log is empty!

The latest alpha should solve it. I’ve tired to reproduce this kind of trouble and wasn’t successful since the lastest release.

btw.: where did you get your theme?

Hm, now I have upgradet to alpha6 and the problem is still present. When I deactivate the captchas everything worked fine!

BTW: The Theme is the "Banana Smoothie" theme from here:
http://www.alexking.org/index.php?conte ... styles.php
It`s a Wordpress theme, you need the template from http://www.coeus-group.com/en/archives/ ... ipity.html to use it.

Huhny, try disabling duplicate comments in the spam plug in see if that works.

I suppose it's because of the WP-compatible theme. Please try the standard template, it should work there.

WP-compatible themes are still alpha and did not use the latest, correct HTML syntax.

Garvin.

Right! This is the problem! Now I have disabled the captchas and enabled the RBLs check and think this works fine!

Thanks for your help!

Is the wp-compatible theme still in in develop?

Okay, great! Yes, the WP theme is yet in development by Evan Nemerson (Tadpole). He hasn't yet committed it to CVS, so I suppose he is still doing some tweaks...

Garvin

I have the same problem with comments not posting with 0.8-alpha9

I tried to to disable a couple of plugins as in the thread...now I can't REENABLE them...it says setting were saved, but the plugins do not appear back on the list.
