Hi,

The static pages guestbook plugin has no spam protection?

Is there a way where I could apply the same anti-spam rules as with the comments/trackbacks?

Thanks...

Not really. Someone made a patch so that it supports it, but the patch was large, had some issues and was not committed yet because I got out of touch with the author.

There once was made an effort of collecting a donation so that I would code in the guestbook captcha support, but that failed. :)

That discussion was in the german forums, I think. Searching for "Gästebuch" and "Captcha" should yield some results...

Best regards,
Garvin

Hmm... so basically the guestbook is unuseable just like the shoutbox plugin....

That... sucks...

Hi!

The developer contacted me again, I'll be committing his plugin approach soon. :)

That is GOOD news... What would a blog be without a nice guestbook ;-)

And it seems that if there is a anti-spam plugin anyway, it could be used too?

Nice!

Hi!

Right, the guestbook plugin will just make use of the anti-spam plugin.

Many people just post a usual blog entry as a guestbook-dummy, instead of using this plugin - that might be the reason why it's a tad unmaintained ;)
