It would be great if you had the option for the following:

1. Payment Gateway

2. Downloads section where people could download files that were attached.

3. Have a picture gallery related to blogs.

4. Be able to have new users register and have their own blog on the website at least and they would be put in a specific group.

Next is keep up the good work from what I see you have a great product that is just missing some options other than that you will be a better program in the future..

Hi!
1. Payment Gateway
That would be done with a plugin, not in the core. Adding such a plugin would already now be easy. But since IMHO blogging is not a payment portal, there has been little public demand for that.
2. Downloads section where people could download files that were attached.
The downloadmanager plugin does that.
3. Have a picture gallery related to blogs.
The mediagallery plugin does that.
4. Be able to have new users register and have their own blog on the website at least and they would be put in a specific group.
The User-Self registration plugin does that.
Next is keep up the good work from what I see you have a great product that is just missing some options other than that you will be a better program in the future..
That a lot for your feedback and help! We try to always improve :-) :-)

Best regards,
Garvin

I think integrating a full ecommerce solution would be really useful - not so much for blogging but for when Serendipity is used as a CMS.

Hi David!

I agree. Most importantly I agree on the "integrate" issue. A payment/commerce solution is so complex, that it should not be settled with a s9y plugin. Developing such an application is work alone for a completely stand-alone product. So the best thing is to have it integrate with Serendipity. This is usually not a big problem on the serendipity side, but more on the commerce side.

At least osCommerce/xtCommerce are very, very hard to properly integrate. Sadly I don't have experience with other shop systems...

Best regards,
Garvin
