Hi

When i try to unzip the download file, I get an error message saying that the file is broken. I've tried different mirrors, computers and unzip programs, but still get the same error. I'm trying to unzip it in Win2k and XP with WinZip or WinRAR. Anybody got a clue?

Hi!

Which URL do you try to unload? Are you sure you load the .zip file and not the .tar.gz file?

You might want to try using 7-ZIP, IMHO the best free extracor.

Absolutely sure it was the ZIP file. Have experience from Linux as well, so I know the difference.

I'll try the 7-ZIP. Thanks for the tip.

Tried it again with the 7zip. The message I get is "serendipity-1.0.1(2).zip is not supported"

From yet another mirror.

Hi!

From which URL did you download it exactly?

Hi

I don't have the exact URL's, but I've downloaded from these servers:
Tainan, Taiwan
Switch, Lausanne, Switzerland
Surfnet, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

I don't think the servers are the issue though. I downloaded it yesterday on a different network (and unzipped with a mac) and that went fine until the installation, when it stalled after displaying the status screen. The easy and expert install buttons just directed it back to the status page although everything seemed to be in order. Then when I tried to download and upload it again today - I just got an error message saying that the file was corrupted or in a wrong format.

Thanks for the help - I really have a use for this.

Hi!

Please try to find out the exact URL. Then I can try to reproduce it.

I just tried with a download that really worked well:

http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourc ... -1.0.1.zip

Best regards,
Garvin

http://belnet.dl.sourceforge.net/source ... -1.0.1.zip

Didn't work this time either. I've also tried to rename it to serendipity.zip with no luck. It was a longshot anyways, but worth checking out. As well I'm logged in as an administrator so there shouldn't be any permission-issues.

Have you heard of anything like this earlier?

Hi!

That file I can extract without any problems with my 7-ZIP!

Are you using a download proxy? It seems something is garbaging the file on your end. Are you downloading the file into an empty directory, and removed all serendipity-1.0.1.zip files beforehand?

Garvin
