Serendipity 1.0 On GoDaddy and Moreeeeeeeeeeeee

New to godaddy and have the shared economy hosting plan, put the 1.0 version on and can get this to come up and go through all the admin stuff .

If I try to move the calendar to the left I assume that I am clicking the dropdown and selecting left then save, which I do, but nothing is happening and yes I have refreshed also. Another thing is when I am in configure plugins the icons/pictures/images do not show up next to the plugin names on the left and to the far right. The install went great no errors, if I am supposed to edit an .ini file what package/software should I use?

In short I am going after the same design to a point of what bob parsons site looks like, but than again if I can get this working the way I believe it should I could probably enhance it to my taste's.

Other question is the windows version of this program is this stable ? good bad in different or what ?????????????????????????????

TIA

Michael :D

Hi!

About the plugins: In the 1.0 version, if you change the dropdown from "right" to "left" or something different, you need to also check the checkbox left to it, and then click on "Save".

Only plugins where you ticked the checkbox will be saved! BTW, in version 1.1 (currently testing/nightlies) we have a cool new Drag+Drop plugin management interface. :)
Another thing is when I am in configure plugins the icons/pictures/images do not show up next to the plugin names on the left and to the far right. The install went great no errors, if I am supposed to edit an .ini file what package/software should I use?
Did you use the Internet Explorer, and have JS activated? You might want to check if the same happens in Firefox.

If it does not happen in Firefox, it means the plugin "Browser Compatibility" is not working properly on your setup. This can have multiple reasons, one of them being that you do not use the URL to access your blog than the one you entered in the config. Like if you configured "http://www.domain.com/" for your blog, but use "http://domain.com/" to enter your blog admin screen. You might want to remove that plugin to see the transparent PNG images, but they will then not have a transparent background.

There is only one version of Serendipity, which runs on both Windows and Linux servers. Linux is actually more tested than on windows servers. But basically they should run fine on both.

Best regards,
