HELP !!! MAYDAY MAYDAY !!!

I had the pollbox plugin added to my blog. But since i coudnt delete the votes to make a new poll i figured why not just empty the data via phpmyadmin.

so i went into phpmyadmin, chose the wright databank, went to plugins_pollbox and pressed EMPTY.

( I did not delete the whole db, b/c i can still see the data in other parts of the db )

So what happened, is that all the plugins on the right side of the blog are gone :(((

What do i do? I can backup it via the hosting company, but thats 15 EUR.
isn`t there another way???

Okay, I'm not too familiar with phpMyAdmin, so I'm not sure exactly what happened. But, looking in your page source, s9y isn't outputting any right sidebar at all.

I'm betting all your plugins have been forcibly "uninstalled": the entire plugins table was emptied (but not any other tables). If you go to the Admin screen, and click the "Configure Plugins" link, do you see any plugins installed? Can you install a plugin to verify that it works?

To prevent problems like this in the future, you can use phpMyAdmin to back up and restore your database on your own. Just back up before you change any tables, then restore if something goes wrong.

Hi!

There is no table "plugins_pollbox", so I'm afraid you seem to have emptied the whole serendipity_plugins DB Table? :)

Because the poll table was only called "serendipity_polls".

In case you deleted the serendipity_plugins table, the list of installed plugins is now completely lost. Either you need to import your backup (which you hopefully hjave *g*) or you need to go to the s9y admini interface and re-install every plugin you had installed. Of course you will loose all configuration for those plugins so you may need to reconfigure all of them again.

So, I hope you still have your backup handy - if you ever drop or empty tables in PMA make sure that a.) you drop the right table and b.) you make a backup before you ever do something serous to your DB. :)

Best regards,
Garvin

thx
