Karma voting crashes

Hi,

A bug has been present in the Karma voting feature of Serendipity since version 0.7. To reproduce the issue, go to www.gamesareforchildren.com, and vote for +2 on the first article on the page. On every machine I've tested, it takes a long time for the vote to be registered, and in most cases the server returns with some sort of error instead of re-displaying the page. Once the error occurs, I can no longer visit any pages of the site.

Occassionally, I've also noticed that the webserver will crash.

The following may be relevant:
Firefox 1.5.0.4
PHP 5.1.4
Serendipity 1.0
MySQL 5.0.18-nt
Apache 2.0.55
Server running Windows XP SP2 with all updates installed
Assorted other applications running on server, though closing them doesn't fix the problem

Thanks,

-Steve

I upgraded the software on this machine an hour ago to the following:

Apache 2.2.2
MySQL 5.0.22-community-nt
Symantec AntiVirus 10.2.2.1

I'm not sure if the problem has gotten any better or worse.

Hi!

Please investigate your PHP and webserver error logs. And what kind of error do you get?

This should IMHO not be related to the karma plugin...

Best regards,
Garvin
