setting blog id to 1
choosing the serendipity_xmlrpc.php file

username and password: same as my administration page login.

and i get this:

"there wasan error detecting your blog settings. click ok and re-enter the username and password. to manually configure you blog, click cancel"

Hi!

This is a bug/problem of how Flock sends their autodetection routine works.

Please raise your voice here:

I actually played around with the Flock beta for Mac OS X (0.7.4.1) and after I provided the URL for my blog, it asked for the username and password and logged me in. I haven't actually posted anything with it to see whether that works or not, but it did accurately detect the blog and logged me in.

Tom -- I'd be interested to know how this worked for you. I still encounter the same problem setting up Flock to work with Serendipity. I've used Serendipity since 0.5, then 0.8, 1.0, 1.1beta (now). Always the same and I've understood the issue to be a problem with Flock.

I checked with Lloyd Budd, the Flock dev who has - or rather had - the bug assigned to him and it's scheduled to be dealt with in a future release. Lloyd is leaving Flock I heard and so it isn't clear how / when / who'll deal with the issue. It has to do with the xml-rpc output and PEAR-SOAP package from serendipity not working woth Flock apparently, there's a bug ix request filed.

I'm far from a technician and so I'm not really clear on the effects of this, I only know that I can't set up the blog in flock at the moment. If something's changed and someone's got it working please post how.
