Upgrade problem

Going from 0.9.1 to 1.0
Uploaded the contents of the zip except for the config. Went to admin to have the upgrade run and nothing, just got a normal login and no upgrade process. Still says its 0.9.1.
Am I missing something because im tired or is something screwy?

It *ought* to update automatically. On a guess, is your Serendipity directory named the same as the directory in the zip? The unzipped files are supposed to overwrite the regular files. If they didn't, you'd get a condition exactly like this.

On the other hand, I just tried the same thing myself. Strangely, I seem to still be running 1.0-alpha2, even though I upgraded with the zip file.
I unzipped the zip, changed the directory to my subdirectory name, and uploaded the modified zip. Then I wrote a PHP script to unzip it, and called that from my browser. Everything worked as expected, except the upgrade.
I'm going to try again, but this time I'll FTP the entire directory structure. Maybe I'll try from the .tar.gz, too.

Ok fixed whatever problem I had by taking the .htaccess file off the server then the upgrade script poped up.
Thanks for trying to help out.

Actually, I'll bet that's going to be a big help for me, too. I've got some custom entries in my .htaccess that'll probably have to go before I can upgrade.
