Trouble with Media upload

I have the following issue:

Upload of an image is ok when i put it in the rootdirectory. But if I create a Directory in the Media Manager and try to upload the image I get an Error Message:
Bild hinzufügen...

Ein Fehler trat beim Dateiupload auf. Vielleicht ist die Datei größer als durch die Server-Konfiguration zugelassen. Bitte mit Ihrem ISP absprechen oder die php.ini datei bearbeiten um größere Uploads zuzulassen.
I've checked the php.ini file and the maximum upload size is 2MB. The image I try to upload has 76KB.

Can someone help me?

if you ftp to your server, can you see the directories you created using the media library? they should be in the uploads/ folder of your serendipity installation.

Yes, I can see the folder when I log in to the server. The only difference to the rootfolder (upload) is, that the createt folder was created with another user called wwwrun. The rights for the folder should be ok in my opinion: drwxrwxrwx.

Hi!

Could you check with your server admin if your webserver has some error logs or php error logs that might help us find the error?

If you are running SafeMode, then it might not be possible to create and maintain directories via the s9y interface.

Garvin

Yes, SafeMode is configured.

Hi!

Then I'm sorry and you're a bit out of luck. Only your system provider might be able to help you there, by specifically configuring file/directory ownerships and PHP process suexec's.

Garvin
