I guess it's sort of like when you can't find your glasses, but I can't seem to find the plugin 'weblogping' - I'm using the latest nightly... downloaded all the plugins and turned on Spartacus... still no weblogping plugin...

Is it me (again) or do I remember correctly, Serendipity had as the only blog system a built in option for pinging the danish blogbot.dk?

I'll answer this myself, now that I've found my glasses, to keep up the analogy... it's called 'announce entries'... Doh!

does the event plugin weblogping ever work in any installation? If it does work, why is it included in every version of serendipity? And why Announce Entries plugin is not included in serendipity download?

Yes, it works! And it is a bundled plugin, so it always comes with serendipity already and does not need to be downloaded seperately.
