Long entry question

I'm looking for a way to shorten long entries to a line or so (maybe even just a title) until a user actually clicks on it to display the entry on its own page. Can anyone point me to a plug-in, or a search term to find it (I couldn't think of one that worked)?

Thanks.

thats the standard way: enter the short line in the normal text field and the rest of the text into the "extended body" (you might have to click on that first to open).

Hi!

Actually this is why Serendipity offers the "Entry Body" and "Extended Entry" for creation. Only the Entry Body is shown on the page, and the extended entry is shown on the detailed page.

That is much better than truncating a text after X characters, and maybe truncating it in the middle. So instead you have the control where to put introductory text.

Best regards,
Garvin

I must have missed something. This is already an option built in? I'll have to take another look - thanks!

I took another look, and it's all there, right in front of my blundering nose. I've now got it working just as it should.

Thanks again!
