Is there someone here that would like to help me with this blog thing?
I have several questions:
1.) How can I place a picture on the sidebar?
2.) Can I set up a member sign-up to email members when a new entry is posted?
3.) Is there a way I can show large (10mb) wmvs?
4.) What the hell is a trackback?
5.) What is an RSS, and why are they there?
I am knot dumb, just a little stupid.

You are not dumb at all! I will answer the questions I know..
1.) How can I place a picture on the sidebar?
Install an HTML nugget under your Sidebar plugins. Enter HTML and you can display a picture in the sidebar.
4.) What the hell is a trackback?
A trackback is when someone links to one of your entries.
5.) What is an RSS, and why are they there?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It can be used for news aggregators (software that shows when your favorite news/blog/whatever site has been updated). It's the easiest way to see when someone has posted a new entry. The RSS is there in case your reader prefers to use a news aggregator (such as Sage for Firefox) instead of checking your site each day for a new entry.

Yes, you can install the "Entry mailer" plugin, which will mail new entries to either multiple manually entered email addresses or to a mailinglist you setup via Yahoo or sth. like that.
3.)
You must then upload those files via FTP and link to them with HTML code in your entries. You could also use YouTube or GoogleVideo or others to upload your video there and then embed their easy HTML copy+paste stuff to show those videos...
