Quick Inquiry

New to the forum, so I have a quick question for those of you that know..
What topic would I post a feature suggestion?
I've had numerous readers tell me that they would LOVE to get an email whenever I post a new blog.. and I thought it would be great if I couls have S9Y do that automatically, and that they could register for this option through the main page.
Thanks in advance!!
Justin

Hi!
Actually, you picked on of the only two forums where the question is inappropriate. *G*
"Development" is for questions from developers (only actual patches, code contributions) and "Help our Developers" is only for us developers asking users for help/Feedback on specific issues.
Your question would fit well into the "plugins" and "general discussion" section(s).
Anyways, your posting is actually not a feature requeest, because that plugin already exists for quite some time. We have the plugin "Mail Entry" (serendipity_event_mailentry) bundled with Serendipity. We have discussed several times on the forums though that this plugin is not meant to replace a mailinglist. It will go well if you setup a mailinglist on Yahoo and point your users there to, and then make the plugin post to your mailinglist.
Implementing a mailinglist in PHP space is not very good because of performance issues, you should always implement a mailinglist at SMTP/Server-level.
Apart frmo that, there are also several RSS-To-Mail services out there which your users might want to subscribe to?
Anyways, best regards and thanks a lot for coming here!
Regards,
Garvin

Hi!
No harm done.

I'm not that strict here anyways, but if people ask what would be appropriate, I had a go for it.
Best regards,
Garvin
