How does one install a plug-in?

Newbie here! once I download a zip file with a plug-in...what do I do with it?

Are there any instructions? I downloaded one and put the files in the plug-in folder but it looked weird WITH_LOTS_OF_UNDERSCORES when i saw it in "Configure Plugins" in the admin tool.

Please enlighten me?

there is an easier way to install plugins, s9y has a way to download and install plugins over the internet, without having to download things, unzip them and putting em online.

this is called SPARTACUS.

go to the plugin menu, select "install a new event plugin" and install the Spartacus plugin.

after insalling this, you can install all plugins in the plugin menu right off the internet.
