I was able to use Spartacus to successfully put HitMaps on my blog. But the image it gives says "Site owners: See updated HitMaps site for new HTML."

The link from this image seems to be
http://kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/hitmaps
but clicking on the image goes to
http://kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/buddyspace/

Any advice?

Hi there

I had the same problem trying to use the hitmaps plugin. I put a clustermap on my blog instead.

Thank you! Easy as pie! Now all I have to do is wait for all the visitors to appear on the map! But it's still disappointing that Spartacus would give me an outdated resource.

Thanks again.

It looks like HitMaps has changed to BuddySpace and nobody told us. I can't find any information on the BuddySpace site to explain how to change the HTTP.

If anyone can figure it out, let me know and I'll try to update the plugin. Otherwise, I think we need to remove it.

HitMaps changed to ClustrMaps one year ago. It is not really necessary to use a plugin for it, just use HTML nugget with code

Code: Select all

<a href="http://clustrmaps.com/counter/maps.php?url=http://xxx.yyy.zzz&type=small&clusters=yes&map=world" id="clustrMapsLink"><img src="http://clustrmaps.com/counter/index2.php?url=http://xxx.yyy.zzz" border=0 onError="this.onError=null; this.src='http://www.meetomatic.com/images/clustrmaps-back-soon.jpg'; document.getElementById('clustrMapsLink').href='http://clustrmaps.com/'"></a>
But remember, you have first to change your old HitMaps account to ClustrMaps by visiting http://www.clustrmaps.com/counter/convert.php. Or you have to register for a new one: http://www.clustrmaps.com/counter/register.php
