Problem with link from My Calendar plugin

Greetings,
I'm having some trouble with the links I create for the My Calendar plugin.
I want to list trade shows I am at, by date. So, I used the My Calendar configuration to enter a date and a web address in the "Possible link to an URL for this" box.
The problem is, that when I then go to the blog page and click on that link, the address is not right.
So, I put in an address like:
"www.tradeshow.com" but when you click on the My Calendar entry, the link that it tries to go to is "http://blog.mywebaddress.com/www.tradeshow.com"
So, it adds the address of my blog in front of the trade show site address, instead of just linking to the trade show site.
What am I missing here? Do I need a different plug in, or just a fix of this one? I installed it from within my Serendipity Admin.
If you like, my blog is at:
http://blog.al-qemi.com/
and the My Calendar section in the sidebar is titled Show & Event Schedule. The other links in the sidebar, like the My Links I added with a plugin, work just fine.
Thanks,
