bug in guestbook event plugin

Hi all,
Col Kurtz and myself have identified a possible bug in theguestbook event plugin. The error occurs when there are no messages in the guestbook and seems to be related to the logic that creates the ordered list for displaying the comments. When there are no messages the closing </ol></div> are missed, and in css only themes this destroys the page. As soon as a comment is entered the problem disappears.
Could someone investigate this and provide a fix?
