[question/suggestion] notes plugin?

Post by costa »

i'm in need of simple "notes" plugin. you know - i'm sitting in work and the IDEA :) crosses my mind suddently. i can write it down, i can send it via emial to my provate account, i can do a lot of things. but hey, wait a minute! i have my own blog! why not to write a note there?

i think it would be a nice little extension of functionality for serendipity. another link in admin panel, a small management of notes included... stupid? maybe but it would be just cool :)

or maybe there is such a plugin? if yes - i can't find it and i'm reading spartacus's list second damned time.

Hi!

Did you maybe think of abusing current plugins for that?:)

For example, the "staticpage" plugin could be used for that, just storing ahead in an unpublished page?

Or you could create a sticky draft entry, which is always on top of your entrypage but not visible to users.

Or using the Todolist plugin?

Just a thought :-D

absolutely NOT! :)
i just had an idea of something easy to use, nothing more.

of course is an option. you can write something down in some ways in serendipity (that's good for sure!). but... i'm a lazy person and i thought of something less absorbing in management. you know - something like showing all notes titles on one page, easy deleting, easy adding, just an editor and nothing more. the less options, the better :). static pages are good but you have to click some more times than you should. remeber, i'm lazy :)

naah, too much work and somehow confusing in management

bingo! that's what i was looking for! categories, progress bars... omg, a whole system! maybe too complex for my needs but looks promising, VERY promising! thanks garvin!

Hi!

Great you seem to like the todolist plugin! I know what you wished for could also be made into a seperate plugin, but I'm usually a big fan of not reinventing the wheel, and it's also a tad of work to implement a full plugin.

So I hope it works out for you! :))

Best regards,
Garvin

Hee, hee. I've just got a "Notes" entry that I leave in Draft state. You've got to login to see drafts, anyway, so it's got everything I need.

I'll have to check out that To Do plugin, though. Sounds neat. Especially now that my Palm is broken.
