Menu Bar for Top level categories?

Hello all,

I don't know how to ask this quite the right way, but is there a way I can crate a top bar that just lists the top level categories of my Blog?

If that is possible, is there also a way to add teh second level items somewhere else?

I was thinkinking of something like A top Area, Left Area (Already: sidebar:left), Right Area (Already: sidebar right), and bottom area.
Is something like this possible?

If you need help, email me webmaster [at] carlgalloway [dot] com, for your purposes, ignore the discussion between myself and Jude, I wanted something different, but in the first few replies you'll find a reply from Garvin where he lists three options. Number two is most likely what you want.

Edit: sorry, my reply only deals with the top level categories, the second level categories will need you to take parts of Judes code - and you will need a programmer to help further with that.

Great post. I just have to find where the config.inc.php file is now and test away.

edit: I GOT IT. I had to actually write the new config file and place it. Works great.
