split page plugin broken

i just tried out the split page markup plugin and it doesnt work, the content hasnt been split up into pages, how can i do this ?

How did you configure the plugin exactly, which version are you using, which serendipity version are you using?

The "split entry" plugin only works on the extended body of the entry.

The plugin version is 1.4, my serendipity version is 1.0 beta1 the tag is default

I use the ecto client, there is no such extended body field, what is the extended body field exactly ?

Sorry, I personally do not use ecto. In XML-RPC clients this is hard, you usually need to use the MoveableType "mt_extended_body" portion for that.

XML-RPC editors usually do not share the concept of an "extended entry", so you should use the serendipity client for posting long articles, or use a XML-RPC client that supports the mt_extended_body attribute.
