Trackback-PlugIn (solved)

Hi!

My Serendipity doesn't send trackbacks anymore. I tried several combinations of the trackback_event-plugin, but nothing seems to fit.

Please describe your problem. "Doesn't work" doesn't help. Use something like output messages, error messages, changes you'Ve made since it last worked, your php information, your server/firewall information, the URLs you try to trackback, your installed event plugins and so on. There are a dozen things you could mention to get us on track to your actual problem. :-)

Best regards,
Garvin

Hi Garvin!

Before I start: what should be the correct settings for sending trackbacks in the event plugin? Both "yes" I guess?

Server and php both didn't change and it worked with both before. Some time ago I had an entry in the serendipity_config_local_inc.php to stop automatic trackbacks but this entry is deleted.

The URLs seem not to be the problem, because I already trackbacked some of them and even my own S9Yentries can't be trackbacked. There are no error messages. In the past there were messages like "no trackback possible" (or something like that) but now there come only the messages of the ping services. No trackback messages.

A list of the event plugins follows in the order like they are displayed in S9Y:

And which Serendipity version are you using?

Did you install any new plugins since the message "no trackback possible" last appeared? Can you try to temporarily remove the "manual trackback" plugin?

You don't get any trackback message at all? Not even "Checking Link XXX"? This would be related to the tracbkack plugin, I figure. Which version of it are you using?

Garvin

I'm typing "live": I uninstalled the trackback_event_plugin and deleted it manually from the directory on the server. Then I reinstalled it and now the text has changed (now I understand where to set "yes" and "no"). Before, there stood something like "plugin_event_trackown" or so.

Now it works! Messages are coming... and the trackback can be found in my blog. I would wager my head that I did this procedure before... apart from deleting it manually.
