"Back to Weblog" link

Post by Toasties »

Hello There,

I have just installed the blog, which is great all seems to be fine apart from one little niggle. If I am in the Administration Suite login page and I click the link 'Back to Weblog' I get a page cannot be found error.

Can some one tell me how to edit that link...I cant find it anywhere!!
Any ideas would be great ..thanks

I believe that link is generated from the paths info in the configuration menu, you should check all paths and make sure they point to the correct location, then also check that the '/' are all present as they should be, particularly the relative path.

Thanks for that, sorry but I got the error message wrong. it actually says: -

Forbidden

You do not have permission .....

It says i do not have permmision to a particular directory. It is the directory where the blog is installed to..
Would that still be in the config area or mor elikely an apache config problem?

hmm, I think that would most likely be an apache error, and whilst I could probably figure it out, I must confess to not being an expert in these sorts of errors, although it almost seems as if your .htaccess file is configured wrongly.

Perhaps we need a developer to take you forward with your installation, sorry I couldn't do more.

What's your URL? It really seems to me as if your URL rewriting is not working.

Hm, you might want to try to enter your s9y configuration and set "URL Rewriting" to "none". Then your "back to weblog" link should work, I think.

Well, now that you've figured out how to use this great blog, welcome to the world of serendipity.

On my own blog I've written up a couple of posts on using xampp as a test server, and I would be very interested in adding your experiences as a follow up article. Would you be willing to share the details of the server you're using, the problems you encountered, and how you fixed those. I know that d_cee and judebert are wanting to write an installation guide, and our respective experiences could be very instructional.

Also, are we able to view your blog yet?

Cheers

Carl
