Is it possible to prevent the entry body to be displayed when the extended body is shown?
I'd rather take the entry body as a so called intro. The extended version is only for long, long text and the entry is not necessary.

No, that's currently not possible without patching our code.

We are currently working on smarty support (in our CVS development branch 'branch-smarty') where you can already do that. However work on smarty is still in progress.
